Kashmir Council-EU strongly condemns killings of youth in Shopian of IHK

Kashmir Council -EU has strongly condemned the recent killings of four youth in the Shopian area of Indian Held Kashmir (IHK). In a statement, Mr. Ali Raza Syed said, the extrajudicial murders of innocent Kashmiris, especially the youth by the Indian forces is a routine matter in IHK. The deployment of eight lakhs Indian security forces in IHK is a proof of occupation due to the appalling human rights abuses committed by them. Indian authorities are engaged to press the peaceful mass resistance by making use of brutal force and atrocities.

Expressing solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir, the Chairman of Kashmir Council-EU said  “we will continue to give our support to the oppressed people of Kashmir. They are peacefully struggling for the right of self-determination but India is oppressing them by making use of a brutal force.  Since 1947, tens of thousands have died, mainly civilians, and serious human rights abuses have been committed by the security personnel. The human rights organizations, the International Community and United Nations should take serious notice of the actions committed by the security personnel.”
